PRE-ORDER allows you to reserve the item of your choice for shipping on the next ready date. It will say PRE-ORDER as the button choice for items that are being prepared. You will often see this during the holidays when we are making chocolate as fast as we can but will need a few days before we are ready to ship.
SHIPPING: Chocolates are shipped with ice packs and in insulated kits during the warm seasons (for Northern US) and all year round (for Southern US) to ensure they are intact and delicious!
SHIPPING SERVICES: We use UPS as our default service. Please indicate if you have a preferred shipper when placing your order.
For complete details, see our full SHIPPING POLICY.
PACKAGING: Our ballotins are traditional French boxes filled with loose chocolates and gently wrapped with a beautiful ribbon. Most chocolate in France is sold by weight and we apply the same principle here in order to give you a generously filled box.
4.5 oz = a little bit more than ¼ lb (approx. 8-12 pieces)
9 oz = a little bit more than ½ lb (approx. 20-24 pieces)
18oz = more than 1 lb (approx 48 pieces)
27oz = more than 1-½ lbs (approx 60 pieces)
We make chocolate by hand daily so it is always fresh. We do not use a lot of sugar (a preservative).
Therefore our chocolate is best consumed when you first receive it.
Chocolates may be fresh up to about 3 weeks from the time of receipt.
All chocolate, especially truffles, are sensitive to heat and humidity.
The optimal storage temperature is 64F / 18C.
It is important to store them in a cool, dry location until consumption.
If you have a wine refrigerator, that is a good option.
If you need to store them in the kitchen refrigerator, wrap them in a tea towel and keep them in the crisper to minimize humidity.
