About
Stéphane Lesaint has lived in the US for almost 30 years yet still looks and sounds as if he was plucked off a Paris corner and dropped in America by chance. He came to New York from Paris for a vacation, speaking no English and fully intending to go back to his life in France: a couturier in the Paris fashion industry. Instead he got married and never left.
Today his e-commerce chocolate boutique, LeSaint French Chocolate, is very much like him: really French and located rather unexpectedly in America (Bucks County PA to be precise). His foundation in design is apparent in his brand of sleek artisan, hand-crafted chocolate. A graduate of the French Pastry School in Chicago, Lesaint was trained by MOF’s (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France) including Jacquy Pfeiffer of the film The Kings of Pastry. He is an International Chocolate Awards multiple World Medal Winner and has been honing his craft for over a decade.
“I love cooking and I especially love pastry and chocolate. Growing up in Normandy, my father was a charcutier and later a chef in our town’s local hotel. My dream was to be a chef, like my father.”
He specializes in gourmet dark chocolate confections, emphasizing high-quality ingredients, intense flavors, and minimal sugar.
FRENCH FAMILY TRADITION
Born and raised in France, Lesaint grew up in a home that truly loved food. His father was an award-winning Charcutier, a creator of patés and galantines. Classic cooking and baking were a daily affair and life centered around the perfect meal made with the freshest ingredients from local farms and the Marchè. This early inspiration formed the basis of his future career.
SUBLIME CONFECTIONS
Lesaint's vision is that of childhood…going to the local chocolatier and buying an assorted ballotin of perfectly delicious homemade bonbons, truffles, and pralines…a beautiful box tied with a satin ribbon, carefully lined and filled with exquisite confections.
